From April 23rd to 26th, 2023, a high-ranking delegation of Viet Nam led by Chairman of the National Assembly, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue paid an official visit to the Republic of Argentina at the invitation of President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ms. Cecilia Moreau. Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam joined the delegation.
Within the framework of the visit, Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy participated in official activities according to the working schedule of the Chairman of the National Assembly; and also signed the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Republic of Argentina.
At 09:45 (local time) on April 25th, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, in the presence of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue , Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam and Mr. Pablo Anselmo Tettamanti, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina officially signed the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Republic of Argentina on behalf of the two States.

signed the Treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between between Viet Nam and Argentina
The Treaty consists of a Preamble and 22 articles, detailing the competence, order and procedures for performing mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the competent authorities of the two countries. After being ratified, the Treaty will be the legal framework directly applied in the process of making, sending and implementing requests for mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between competent authorities of Viet Nam and Argentina; thereby, the Treaty will contribute to the effective and legal settlement of criminal cases involving foreign elements of the two countries. The Treaty will be a legal tool to better protect the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens of each country.
The signing of the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Viet Nam and Argentina during this high-level visit is an important event on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (October 25th, 1973 - October 25th, 2023), contributing to consolidating and developing the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and Argentina in an effective and substantive manner.
